Another example: As a Cisco partner with "Cisco Environmental Sustainability Specialization", we focus on the issue of sustainability when returning hardware products. When these have reached their "end of life", our partner Cisco ensures that they are disposed of properly or given a second life as remanufactured equipment.

Through conscious travel planning, increased use of digital meetings, and the choice of sustainable means of transport, we want to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions from business trips.

Every kilowatt counts. We want to reduce our energy consumption through conscious actions, smart technical adjustments, and continuous awareness-raising in everyday office life.
Strengthening awareness
Our environmental management thrives on the knowledge and commitment of all our employees. With regular compact awareness sessions and informative insights on the topic of the environment, we aim to share knowledge, strengthen environmental competence, and provide practical tips for everyday life.

In recent years, nicos has consistently worked on its environmental performance and achieved measurable progress. With our ISO 14001 environmental management system , we systematically collect data, derive targeted measures from it, and improve our impact year after year.

The results show that our measures are effective. We are improving step by step.
Power consumption
The slight increase in 2024 can be explained by higher office attendance. Despite consistent attendance times, 2025 shows a significant decline—proof that small everyday measures, conscious energy use, sensible handling of electricity, and efficient use of technology have a noticeable effect.
Company cars & CO₂ emissions
Since 2023, we have been able to reduce the CO₂ emissions of our vehicle fleet by around 40%. The consistent switch to electric and hybrid vehicles has been a key factor in this. Fuel consumption will also fall significantly again in 2025. Our mobility remains essential—but is becoming more climate-friendly step by step.
Safety assistants
The number of first responders remains consistently high, and further training is planned. Compared to the previous year, we have significantly increased the number of our fire safety assistants – an important contribution to safety at our site.
Material use vs. waste
Through centralised warehousing and optimised planning processes, we have been able to significantly reduce material use and waste. More efficient processes help us to use resources in a targeted and responsible manner.
ISO 14001 surveillance audit – confirmed
We have successfully completed the ISO 14001 surveillance audit. TÜV has confirmed that nicos:
